He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Refractive Surgery Alliance. He grew up in Tyler, Texas. He graduated with honors from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2013. He graduated Medical School from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans in 2017.

He completed a transitional year internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas in 2018. Dr. Harris then served for two years as an Army Flight Surgeon before completing his Residency in Ophthalmology at Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio in 2023. He has been practicing Comprehensive Ophthalmology at Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center (Fort Hood) since 2023. He is married with three children. In his spare time, Dr Harris enjoys reading, watching football, and spending time with his family.
